my highlight from black and business
is by far our first event back in
september of 2020 black at lbs
it was our first time coming together as
a group and really sharing our
experiences about what it's like
to be black both you know beyond lbs and
within lbs
the highlight of my experience in the
outing business club
was doing the coming out week imagine
yourself telling your coming out story
to
people that you just met initially i was
hesitant but in the end
it's one of the things that i recommend
to every lgbtq plus
student my highlight for this year is
honestly quite hard to say because we've
done so much
the first being the club kickoff that
was really great because you know we'd
worked incredibly hard over the summer
to put this whole thing together and
that was the first moment where it felt
really real it made me realize that we
really could have a big impact
one of my biggest web highlights was
actually creating a stronger community
beyond lbs and london we created a
global women's network
with nine different schools comprised of
all of their women in business
leaders i'm thrilled to know that this
network will continue next year and
hopefully beyond that as well
fly stands for first generation low or
intermediate income
we launched the club in march 2021 with
the help of a passionate
team of students one of the biggest
accomplishments has been becoming a
lasting club at london business school
that means that it will survive at lbs
as a platform that creates awareness
about financial
advantage or disadvantage and a
community
helping to break the stigma about lower
socioeconomic backgrounds
by enabling this club lbs has reinforced
its commitment
to attracting and nurturing talent from
the most diverse
and marginalized backgrounds one of the
highlights of the club for me this year
would
definitely be euro 2020 our 10th
anniversary
of europe had to move from an in-person
conference
to a fully virtual one and we
ended up having over 900 attendees from
across the world
a key highlight from leading the women
in business club this year has been
the opportunity to collaborate on the
development of a student allyship
hamburg
the goal behind this hamburg is to
provide students with resources to
support them and how they can
drive diversity and inclusion in their
experience as a student at london
business school but also in their
careers afterwards
the special part about it was noticing
wow we really started something special
here

tattoo is the biggest event that lbs has
and also a massive celebration of the
diversity we have on campus which is one
of lbs's best points it's always one of
the most memorable nights for every
student at lbs typically we have over a
thousand students attending tattoos and
along with that it's supported by over
200 staff and 21 people on the planning
committee this year as soon as we
released tickets we saw that there was 4
000 logons trying to buy the 1100
tickets and tickets filled out in around
4 minutes so the agenda for tattoo
students line up outside of the campus
they come in they're greeted by a ton of
food stalls from all of their favorite
types of cuisine we then simultaneously
have a lot of different events going on
things like the talent show silent disco
and also the battle of the vans
we had eva actually showcase some of her
fire twirling on campus as well
we typically finish off the event with a
light show right behind us on our
beautiful sussex campus and then in
typical lvs fashion of course there has
to be an after party tattoo has been
going on for over a decade and a fun
fact in 2016 tattoo won the guinness
world record for most nationalities and
a simultaneous sing-along and that world
dr plaque is sitting in our student
association office my highlight as an
attendee was definitely the light show
it was super cool to see this projection
mapping onto our beautiful sussex campus
we chose songs we felt like spoke with
the lvs student body so everyone was
very excited and loving it to some
tattoo up in one sentence i would say
it's the biggest most diverse and most
memorable event for all students and
alumni that happens on campus and it's
an event that really just shouldn't be
missed

we look for a number of things when
assessing candidates Olinda Business
School and it's important that we take a
very holistic view of a candidate
looking at factors ranging from academic
experience your professional life so
then we'll start to look at what kind of
person are they what are their ambitions
do they have a global outlook that they
have international experience or are
they looking to to build an
international presence we look for
evidence of a collaborative attitude as
well it's really important that you want
to learn from others and with others and
make the most of the fact that people
are from all over the world bringing
very different perspectives so it's key
that you're the kind of individual that
is interested in other people
self-awareness is important do you know
your strengths your weaknesses and the
gaps you have coming into the program so
that you know what you can focus on
during your time here researching the
school and programs is absolutely key
it's vital for us that we see that
you've put that time into research what
makes us unique and what's different
you have your own aspirations and where
you're hoping to achieve from a program
you have to see whether the two fit one
misconception that people sometimes have
when they're applying mister you have to
be quirky or different or unique and the
fact is that we're crafting a class and
putting it together students from all
sorts of different backgrounds
professional backgrounds different
nationalities so we're creating that
diversity and so you as an individual
just need to bring you
you

[Music]
the accelerated development program has
really shaped me as a leader that's my
personal feeling you know different
perspectives on strategy on markets on
behavior organizational behavior
organizational structures and so on the
program is structured in a way that what
you put in is what you get out
so
come
with the with the attitude of putting
everything in and you get the best out
of it because there's so much to learn
the contribution of the faculty was
essential i think
it was very important for us that we
were together with people with similar
levels of seniority but with very
different experience type if i were to
sum up my experience at adp i would just
say above and beyond it's a very
valuable program it has been fantastic

[Music]
my experience at the London Business
School was totally transformative the
senior executive programs doubled my
ambition is really challenging the way
you work the way you think is
challenging your assumptions
the senior executive program at London
Business School is our Flagship program
it's based upon faculty teaching
academic rigor research and Consulting
with some of the best businesses around
the world we live in a walker well the
Buca stands for volatile uncertain
complex ambiguous I don't know any
senior Executives who is not facing the
challenge of change transformation
disruption and coming on the sap is the
best way to hear and learn about the
latest thinking on how to deal with
change and transformation we have very
senior participants with a depth of
expertise we challenge their thinking so
they can better transform their
organizations
learning takes place not only in the
classroom from the teacher to the
participants but also among the
participants themselves sharing the
class with such a broad range of
executive leaders from different
Industries and different geographies
really added to the overall program very
quickly you could see how people were
sharing their skills and expertise with
the class and very often it comes out
that we have actually met before in the
business I met my colleague Tomaso of
Benetton group and it came out that we
actually had signed agreement before for
the tiling group to represent the
Benetton group in our region where we
operate in the Scandinavia and 40
countries the city of London is an
important element of the senior
executive program London is an ideal
classroom from the walks down region
Park a stroll by the Riverside there's
always something to be learned a lot of
different locations what we visited with
our classmates the dinners the
networking and the discussions we had
the opportunity to go to the design
Museum we spent time at House of Commons
in an art gallery really listening to
the challenges businesses were facing
and working together in teams to propose
new Solutions
another valuable day was the media
Training Day we gained a lot of
techniques and tools and how to set our
messages in a way that they will be
heard I am very strongly encouraging the
organization to send more participants
on this program it's had a very
significant impact on me and I think
it's something that our company will
continue to invest in in the years ahead
I am so so thankful to have this
experience if you're a leader and you
desire and aspire to see results
different from what you're used to
seeing the senior executive program at
the London Business School is definitely
a must

### The Women in Leadership programme | LBS
URL: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SImvxHImCz0

Idioma: en

[Music]
london business school's women in
leadership program
addresses a fundamental need in this day
and age
women are still vastly underrepresented
at the top of business organizations and
also in the roles
that lead to the top and progress has
been slow
even stalled over the last decade
so what happens is if you go to a mixed
gender
educational program executive program
for high potential people moving up
chances are as a woman you're going to
be in the minority when you're in the
minority
research shows you're much more likely
to speak up
on the issues that most directly concern
you and you're less likely
to find kindred spirits who share the
same challenges our women in leadership
program is designed to empower women
on route to the c-suite very simply by
identifying what are the pathways to the
c-suite
what does it take to step up from being
a great technical or functional expert a
great team leader to stepping up to a
bigger
broader enterprise-wide role where
you're also managing up
you're managing a broad array of
stakeholders you're much more
responsible for strategy
and vision and in many ways your job is
to lead
change we're focusing a lot on skill
development so it's a very practical
program
far less about the theory of leadership
or the theory of gender and leadership
and much more about what women these
women in particular
need to be effective to identify
opportunities and be effective in
pursuing those opportunities
growing your leadership takes practice
takes
feedback takes iteration and so we've
designed
our women in leadership program with
this in mind the learning techniques
that really differentiated from others
in the market
come down to i would say two in
particular the first is the role of the
sponsor
so it's not unusual for a sponsor to
nominate a participant to a leadership
program
in hours that sponsor is with the
participant throughout the entire
journey
so they start with the online component
in the very beginning
right where they're um meeting with the
faculty and meeting with the coach
so we're all sort of in this together is
the idea then throughout the week they
will be
um working back and forth with the with
the sponsor
the sponsor then continues on with them
after the program the reason this is so
important
is that you can launch a program that's
really marvelous has lots of really
wonderful components lots of
opportunities for learning and
development
and then the participant goes back to
work and it's sort of business as usual
and it's hard to figure out
where i can start to use some of these
new skills and how i can have an impact
so our focus here is to say how do we
kind of make sure that when women return
to the workplace
that they've got a champion there that
they've got someone saying okay let's
try to put some of these skills into
practice
and that i think is what's so special
about our approach that sponsors will
really
partner uh with the women in the program
and then help them
after the program is over to make sure
that they're having the impact that they
need to in the organization
we think that's going to pay off in
terms of promotion and career
acceleration so we're really excited

toxic and poisonous gases are present in
a lot of different industries and you
have to monitor those gases so that in
case of a gas leak people can evacuate
photonic innovations specializes in
laser based gas leak detection equipment
they're super accurate and super
reliable keeping is safe at all times
the company has come out of Dunedin
which is a beautiful city out here in
South Island of New Zealand I come from
a non business background I actually
have a PhD in physics and when you are
running a business you actually have to
know how things operate the certificate
and management has impacted my
professional career I have been able to
bring back improve skills and experience
it's a tailored course where you can
pick four different courses I pick
courses that suited the stage of our
business like market driving strategies
and high-performance people skills that
enabled me to think about how we push
our product in the marketplace by
building on international partnerships
in the high-performance people's tales
program we had one-on-one coach they
always pushed me to think outside the
box and we studied real-life case study
there was a lot of support after the
course was complete I was in touch with
my coach for almost couple of months and
we discussed how the learnings have
impacted me as a leader the classroom
was fantastic especially when you meet
people from various spheres of life
businesses at different stages you tend
to learn a lot photonics came out as a
university startup and as of now we are
sharing our startup tag we are growing
rapidly we are currently selling
products in around 3 to 4 countries very
soon we will be selling our products in
30 plus countries
we talk on a regular basis we do
exchange ideas we talk about what
business problems we are facing in our
own companies and I think more
importantly we have made lifelong
friends the certificate in management
has impacted my professional career I
have been able to bring back improved
skills to my organization and we have
been driving ever since and I do believe
that London Business School has had a
key role to play

this business school genuinely thrives
on bringing different people's views
together whether it's from latin america
india africa the whole of southeast asia
i'm blown away by the internationality
of the school i wanted to be in a global
environment and lbs was the only school
that would put me in a class with
literally students from all over the
world choosing a toy mba program was
very important for me because i felt it
gave me the right amount of time to be
transformed as a leader london gives you
that access to the city and access to so
many top employers that come to lbs and
so for me was a no-brainer for me
a lot of it was about being able to
explore what life would be like to work
in europe to live in europe when you
started lbs you get assigned to a study
group of about six people and it's great
because it's a group of people who you
have
a bunch of differences with different
cultures different work experience
different specialties in your first term
what you can expect the school will be
helping you build your fundamentals to
be a business leader so courses such as
strategy operations management economics
marketing these are some of the courses
that you'll be taking to build your
foundation term t you get to choose your
concentration essentially which is what
kind of courses do you want to double
down on you can really blend it so you
can choose to be a bit of strategy and
lots of finance or a bit of accounting
and lots of operations definitely the
biggest highlights for me my first year
was the london cap program
and the idea being that over a 10-week
period it gives lbs students the
opportunity to work with the client
across different sectors i specifically
chose a non-profit client that's based
in new york and the idea was that we
would help them look at their
organizational structure and how they
could optimize the work that they did
you will also work really closely with
the career center we have industry
experts we have career coaches anything
that you need will respect your career
they will be there for you there's also
so much that's happening outside of the
traditional elements of the mba program
so starting with the the clubs there are
100 work clubs that you can join in
either from a very strategic career
standpoint such as tech and media club
pe the things that are a little bit more
social like uh wine and spirits club the
rugby club has gone on you know a tour
to barcelona where 60 of us went there
and played against the local club or the
expedition club has done the three peaks
challenge throughout the united kingdom
where you climb the three highest peaks
in scotland england and wales in 24
hours and it's just
you know taking 80 of your closest
friends from lbs and just spending all
that time together is a really great way
to get to know i just wanted to meet
meet to meet and student clubs and
tracks are so important to that the
summer internship is a real key
component of a two-year program so for
me my summer worked out really well i
was supported by career center to secure
an internship in mckinsey london and it
was phenomenal it was exactly what i
wanted to do in terms of skill set
development well i have a lot of friends
who use their summer doing something
that really went out of the box for them
and now they're using their second year
to really define what's the next step
for them or find a position in the
sector that they decided was really good
for them you can also take part in
entrepreneurship summer school it's a
place where you spend summer actively
testing your idea you test the
feasibility of your idea you do market
research and all this under the
mentorship of industry experts and
professors year two is all about
customization in that you pick every
course on your schedule how many classes
you want to take when you want to take
them what you want to take and it's
great because we're each getting exactly
what we need out of the second year a
really exciting part of your second year
are both the global experience and
international exchange opportunities
with the global experience it gives you
the opportunity to travel out to various
countries and you have the opportunity
to work on specific sectors over the
week as well as real life products with
clients that are based in those regions
for me personally i'll be going to miami
in the summer which i'm pretty excited
about along with a cohort of about 60 70
um students on the international
exchange side there's a massive range of
partner schools all over the world
depending on kind of what interests you
or what sectors you're interested in you
can choose to exit between 15 18 or 21
months i personally decided to go for
the 18th month exit point so i can
really start earning again and start
climbing up that career ladder but i
think it's really important to know
you're taking lifelong friendships and
networks with you wherever you go

being back here today is
really really special we didn't know the
pandemic was coming and then i had to go
home so i never got to say goodbye to
any of my peers so seeing everybody
again has been
really amazing and emotional graduating
in 2020 meant that you had to reimagine
a lot of your plans for yourself so i
had a major pivot in 2020 after i
graduated and decided to move over into
brand management i didn't even know it
was an option before the mba and it's
the type of role that really wants mbas
especially in the us i'm now with mattel
brand management on monster high and
polly pocket i am working with like a
global team and communicating with teams
all around the world the experience i
had here with understanding other
cultures and
getting to know people from all over the
world had set me up for success in
speaking with everyone else globally on
my team i look back on so
much very fondly so my favorite classes
came at the end of second year and
actually they were fully remote but
professors did amazing i loved the sport
and entertainment class and then i also
loved my advanced marketing strategy
class those were my two favorites by the
end and then it was so special that in
2020 i spent the first two weeks at
melbourne business school and then went
to new zealand and traveled with friends
from lbs and then went over to myanmar
for my global business experience i just
think i probably had one of the best
2020s of anyone it was really amazing
and it carried me through
i have missed london as much as i've
missed any person
i've missed this campus it's been so
emotional to be here and to finally get
a celebrate and have an ending to the
mba

it's been two years since we graduated
from the mba in the middle of the
pandemic and it's such a delight to be
back on campus to celebrate with my
remarkable colleagues and friends during
the pandemic i returned to london to
work as a doctor again and support the
nhs but also advising governments
institutional funds and clients through
the lens of sustainable healthcare
during my columbia business school
exchange in new york i met my now
partners to establish bangladesh's first
early stage venture capital fund and
i've been investing in impact-driven
startups in the region over the last two
years more recently i've joined morgan
stanley as an equity analyst to look at
the pace and the rate of innovation in
med tech and healthcare companies
looking back at my time at lbs my
highlight has to be the extraordinary
opportunities i've had to meet some
remarkable people both inside and
outside the classroom worldwide from the
classroom assignments to the internships
as well as the tracks and the gves the
mba has been a truly transformative
experience and something that all my
colleagues would agree has been the best
investment in themselves it's created
opportunities for us that we didn't even
think were possible i'm deeply indebted
and grateful to the sari scholarship for
all the support that it's given me to
allow me to be here today when my
parents came to this country in the 60s
they were only thinking about survival
and weren't even considering school and
within a generation i have the
opportunity to reach for
self-actualization by going to not only
medical school public health school but
enjoying the benefits and the fruits of
business school to really do what i want
to do with my life

### What the Executive MBA course has to offer | LBS
URL: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i6_DKgFDH_c

Idioma: en

the diversity is very clear um it's
something you notice as soon as you walk
into class you'll notice the the
diversity on the basis that you've got
so many people traveling from so many
parts of the world we've got in our
class alone people flying in from sao
paulo every two weeks we've got people
from bahrain we've got people from
kuwait i fortunately live in london but
i think i'm actually the minority i
think that's what attracted me to the
class itself it was that diversity of
culture and background that you can see
present within any classroom
participation
not only is it their experience in the
industry but from their background in
how they were raised
and the in the industries that they work
in in those locations which is really
attractive so the program structure
itself is i think at the forefront not
only are we reading case studies on a
weekly basis we're also able to listen
in and add value inside the class with
each other so in a case scenario we had
last week where we were talking about
the fast food market we had individuals
that were had experience on the
consulting side but we also had people
that had started up their own businesses
it was that continual exchange of
information back and forth within the
classroom that made it engaging it's
always encouraging to hear faculty's
point of view but the real value for me
choosing lbs is having that experience
and the know-how and listening to my own
peers there's a real emphasis for
faculty and students to mix we do a lot
of social events there is no class
divide between faculty and students
which is what i find encouraging
it really does feel like a family

### Masters in Management: Celebrating a decade | LBS

[Music]
I started hellofresh
after graduating from the moon program
in 2010 and since then I've seen
hellofresh grow tremendously now we're
serving millions of meals to our
customers around the globe I graduated
from the Masters of management in 2015
and it really helped further my career
it helped me grow faster than I would
have otherwise
I chose LVS primarily based on some of
the conversations I've had with alumni
I've found that everyone I've spoken to
who's a tenth of the school genuinely
has this passion and this drive and this
fire burning in their eyes there's a lot
of stuff that I learnt that I can still
apply today but for me there are two
things they're really standing out
number one invests the International
exposure you get I'm responsible for
twelve markets so I have to deal with a
lot of people that are non German don't
have a German background so it
definitely helps to be able to adjust
and adapt to and people having a
different background I have used the
community of lbs a lot obviously I have
a lot of great friendships that came out
of it and I really love helping alumni
of London Business School because I know
they'll be a really high caliber you
really feel like you're part of a family
it's very cheesy to say that it's true
the other thing that I really learnt at
lbs is dealing with data I think today
that's so important to be able to think
about data the right way to be able to
analyze data and I think that's also
something that's really setting called
afresh apart obvious really helped me
develop my confidence in business then
what it means to work in a corporate
structure the marketing class was one of
the most useful courses for my career
right now it really drove home the
importance of putting the customer first
and creating value for the customer over
the past ten years business practices
have changed and we have reacted to this
by developing and extending our career
one of the important skills needed to be
successful in business is to see the big
picture or to make connections between
different business functions we teach
this through our integrated modules
where students have the opportunity to
make connections between different pour
courses or core
they learn in addition during the live
business project students apply all the
skills they developed throughout the
program to solve the real-world problems
for a real company I'm particularly
focused on consulting I think that this
program it will equip me with really
important skills technically and
theoretically I've been working very
closely with the Career Center with mock
interviews and CV reviews and what I
really love is how committed they are
and how adaptable they are based on your
plan and how that might change
throughout the year considering all that
I've learned so far on the men in the
last few months I am really excited to
see where this program takes me
