it's been two years since we graduated
from the mba in the middle of the
pandemic and it's such a delight to be
back on campus to celebrate with my
remarkable colleagues and friends during
the pandemic i returned to london to
work as a doctor again and support the
nhs but also advising governments
institutional funds and clients through
the lens of sustainable healthcare
during my columbia business school
exchange in new york i met my now
partners to establish bangladesh's first
early stage venture capital fund and
i've been investing in impact-driven
startups in the region over the last two
years more recently i've joined morgan
stanley as an equity analyst to look at
the pace and the rate of innovation in
med tech and healthcare companies
looking back at my time at lbs my
highlight has to be the extraordinary
opportunities i've had to meet some
remarkable people both inside and
outside the classroom worldwide from the
classroom assignments to the internships
as well as the tracks and the gves the
mba has been a truly transformative
experience and something that all my
colleagues would agree has been the best
investment in themselves it's created
opportunities for us that we didn't even
think were possible i'm deeply indebted
and grateful to the sari scholarship for
all the support that it's given me to
allow me to be here today when my
parents came to this country in the 60s
they were only thinking about survival
and weren't even considering school and
within a generation i have the
opportunity to reach for
self-actualization by going to not only
medical school public health school but
enjoying the benefits and the fruits of
business school to really do what i want
to do with my life
you

### What the Executive MBA course has to offer | LBS

Idioma: en

the diversity is very clear um it's
something you notice as soon as you walk
into class you'll notice the the
diversity on the basis that you've got
so many people traveling from so many
parts of the world we've got in our
class alone people flying in from sao
paulo every two weeks we've got people
from bahrain we've got people from
kuwait i fortunately live in london but
i think i'm actually the minority i
think that's what attracted me to the
class itself it was that diversity of
culture and background that you can see
present within any classroom
participation
not only is it their experience in the
industry but from their background in
how they were raised
and the in the industries that they work
in in those locations which is really
attractive so the program structure
itself is i think at the forefront not
only are we reading case studies on a
weekly basis we're also able to listen
in and add value inside the class with
each other so in a case scenario we had
last week where we were talking about
the fast food market we had individuals
that were had experience on the
consulting side but we also had people
that had started up their own businesses
it was that continual exchange of
information back and forth within the
classroom that made it engaging it's
always encouraging to hear faculty's
point of view but the real value for me
choosing lbs is having that experience
and the know-how and listening to my own
peers there's a real emphasis for
faculty and students to mix we do a lot
of social events there is no class
divide between faculty and students
which is what i find encouraging
it really does feel like a family

### Admissions advice for the MBA programme | LBS
URL: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BZiD4_0EyJg

Idioma: en

we look for a number of things when
assessing candidates Olinda Business
School and it's important that we take a
very holistic view of a candidate
looking at factors ranging from academic
experience your professional life so
then we'll start to look at what kind of
person are they what are their ambitions
do they have a global outlook that they
have international experience or are
they looking to to build an
international presence we look for
evidence of a collaborative attitude as
well it's really important that you want
to learn from others and with others and
make the most of the fact that people
are from all over the world bringing
very different perspectives so it's key
that you're the kind of individual that
is interested in other people
self-awareness is important do you know
your strengths your weaknesses and the
gaps you have coming into the program so
that you know what you can focus on
during your time here researching the
school and programs is absolutely key
it's vital for us that we see that
you've put that time into research what
makes us unique and what's different
you have your own aspirations and where
you're hoping to achieve from a program
you have to see whether the two fit one
misconception that people sometimes have
when they're applying mister you have to
be quirky or different or unique and the
fact is that we're crafting a class and
putting it together students from all
sorts of different backgrounds
professional backgrounds different
nationalities so we're creating that
diversity and so you as an individual
just need to bring you
you

### Our student community: coming together in times of crisis | London Business School
URL: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Df4aoImqmyI

Idioma: en

[Music]
even though we're kind of behind screens
and not physically together I feel like
I need to collaborate more with people
to get things done because it's I didn't
realize how much I seek the validation
and working with somebody else and
hearing from people and kind of working
together and how much that motivates me
and drives me in search of a silver
lining it's now clear on a wide scale
that 9:00 to 5:00 in the office isn't
the only way to get work done in times
of crisis I've learned that you really
have to think positively and figure out
a way to best take advantage of it many
people of her times reflect we can act
with friends and family you can focus on
what really matters to them the best
thing about the lvf community right now
is their shared desire to make the best
of a really challenging situation I like
how even though things have completely
changed for students there's a clear
effort to not let this year go to waste
and students and faculty have been
organizing online webinars sundowners
and various social activities online we
have access to so many other courses we
wouldn't otherwise have access to so the
school is really making a lot of
excellent free everyone together even if
you stuck in your living room when it
comes to forming strong working
relationships online I've learned to
turn my camera on it's incredibly
helpful to be able to see the face and
expression of my fellow peers and I
really enjoy seeing their faces and
classes as well club meeting it's very
important to be proactive and reach out
first there's a lot of people in st.
Paul to sue and they would really
appreciate the additional contact my
biggest takeaway from this situation is
to stop focusing so much on what you
can't control and start focusing more on
how you can actually use this
opportunity to grow the thing that makes
lbs so special is one another and the
students in our experience with each
other so no one has let lockdown or
social distancing measures or the fact
that about half the student body is now
scattered around the world
stop us from hanging out with one
another

### My MBA Diary - Term Four | London Business School

Idioma: en

the second year of the MBA is well
underway and it's just as exciting as
the first as part of the two-year MBA we
have the opportunity to do summer
internship I spent my 12 weeks and xeric
UBS's chief investment office I was
learning how to invest for social good
to drive sustainable change for most of
the summer I worked full-time with wine
which is an electric bike share company
here in London and a lot of the skills
that I needed I had learned at lbs I
spent the summer working on my own
business idea through the
Entrepreneurship summer school at lbs
one of the great things that the summer
school does is provide you with a mentor
to help you navigate your business idea
and the industry you've chosen one of
the highlights of this term was working
on product at LDS which is a new
conference that a friend and I
co-founded we had workshops campaign all
via the keynote speaker and we've gotten
really positive feedback off campus have
plenty of initiatives to get involved
with this time I was selected to attend
the One Young World Forum in London with
support from Johnson & Johnson I had
their unparalleled platform to talk
about my social enterprise broadening
access to maternal health in Bangladesh
I was proud to clvs partnering with one
young world to support emerging global
leaders one of the highlights of my
second year is the global business
experience we get to choose from six
cities all over the world and I chose to
visit Tel Aviv we spend some time with
entrepreneurs learning about their
businesses and
new solutions across industries 2019 has
been great and I am looking forward to
2020

[Applause]
I have learned a ton in my first
semester at London Business School my
biggest highlight so far has been
meeting all the extremely talented
individuals across the hall i've really
enjoyed how effective london is whenever
you're in a different neighborhood they
each have a completely different feel
before I came to lbs I did events for
the Sundance Film Festival I wanted to
pursue an MBA is because I wanted to
work in the entertainment business I was
a practicing medical doctor in the NHS I
joined RBS so they can better understand
the business side of healthcare I worked
at Africa's first activist hedge fund I
came to business school to help me
broaden my skill set at my orientation
day I was surrounded by the most
outgoing people in the world the
diversity at lbs that's really been a
great highlight for me I was dreading
taking accounting but the accounting
class was taught by a fantastic
professor and I honestly look forward to
class every week as much as I'm learning
inside the classroom there's so much
going on outside of it I'm very excited
to be connecting Public Health students
at London School of Hygiene Tropical
Medicine with London Business School so
that they can work on projects in
developing countries I recently went on
a career Trek with the tech and media
Club in Amsterdam visited three
companies Tesla delivery and Endemol
shine it was an awesome learning
experience we went to Madrid with the
woman's touch Rugby Club mighty won the
tournament and we are currently the
world champions of the NBA when mr.
Draghi it's been a whirlwind this first
time and I can't wait for the next one

two years flew by like no other but at
the same time quite excited for the
future and what you know what London
business was prepare before set me up
for here in London in the world
I can't wait but at the same time I also
don't want it to end so I'm not sure how
to feel today when I first got accepted
I came to welcome weekend I walked in
through the doors of Sussex place
started meeting my classmates and I knew
I was home I mean these were people who
not only excelled professionally but
also excelled in personal life I had my
checkbook I signed the check I was like
I'm coming we're doing this and it's
been like that ever since I mean the
tracks the classes the societies I have
thousands of pictures on my phone just
with me in my classmates and that's been
the highlight the benefit of the network
has been phenomenal I mean for myself
I'm a transplant from the States to the
United Kingdom and the network here
globally it's unparalleled it's
something that's helped me find
internships jobs connect with people who
are Mentors
it's been something that I value and
hope to utilize I also contribute to the
future I was told by career services and
you know an admissions committee that I
was like one of the people who like
maximise the flexibility MBA like no
other did the first year did my own
summer internship then I went on
exchange to Columbia Business School so
I was gone for the first term of second
year then I did my GBE and Myanmar
stayed in Southeast Asia for about a
month straight from Myanmar I moved to
Berlin to start an internship with a
venture capital firm in Germany from
there I came back to London to finish my
last term at London Business School to
do my classes so that flexibility was
key to kind of my career success and the
ability to explore all those options the
impact the LVS has had on me has been
phenomenal it's been
Brown changing I mean I don't really
recognize myself from two years ago and
I know this too from feedback not only
from my peers but also my colleagues
it's profoundly changed Who I am not
only professionally and as you know
somebody who's looking to advance my
career but also personally I've grown as
a leader and I take those lessons to
heart and I hope to continue them as I
keep going out into

### MBA: Career Support | London Business School
URL: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7IOrvJZ9ymQ

Idioma: en

I think the most valuable support I
gained from current service was really
it's a tailored approach you get to
listen to your story and then they come
up with a strategy based on your story
and that story has to be presented
consistently throughout the process your
experience here at OBS isn't just about
your education it's about your whole
journey of figuring out where you want
to go next in your career and the Career
Center is an integral part of that
consistently over 90% of our graduates
find jobs within three months after
graduation when you're students you
probably don't realize the amount of
people who are working to find a job for
you right I think you don't necessarily
realize that the power and the strength
of that unless you've found that other
schools don't have that the career
portal has a listing of all the jobs I
think that is very very helpful in the
sense that you just go to one place and
you can see all the job opportunities
there are another way that we help
students is by working one-to-one with
them as a coach it provides a space for
students to explore what it is they want
to do think about both their short-term
and their longer-term career goals how
they're going to get there create some
kind of an action plan I remember
reading coaching advice and things like
that that just helps you grow as a
person how you pitch your resume how you
write things to this day those tips that
I received I still use a lot right
before you do your interviews there
would be mock interviews with people who
have done it before with external
consultants that really get you
comfortable to be sitting in the actual
jurors you also have interview guides
which are prepared by both the Career
Center and previous year students that
was the Bible for me in terms of getting
the
and interview for Investment Banking
some of the big finance firms that
recruit our MBAs include Goldman Sachs
and Credit Suisse the strategy
consulting firms McKinsey Bain BCG are a
popular choice and in the springtime we
have a boutique consulting firms event
that introduces our students to some of
the smaller consulting firms that are
out there we have developed
relationships with large technology
companies such as
Amazon and Google but also smaller
companies such as circle and Sam labs I
still have a very strong relationship
with the Kerry services of LVS but more
from like a recruiter perspective so now
every time we do have internships so
every time we need candidates are you
one of my by default thing will be to
make sure that those jobs are posted on
LDS the alumni network at lbs is really
amazing tool for MBAs to help them with
their career while they're here as
students they reach out to alumni have
informational interviews with them to
find out more about what it's like to
work in their sector and get some
general careers advice it really is a
tremendous thing because it helps you
not only when you're here as a student
but also when you become an alumni
because you can tap back into that very
helpful group of people who can help
point you toward potentially your next
opportunity what cities have graduated
we offer career support through our
alumni Career Center staff when I was at
BCG and I was looking for a new job and
I wanted to basically move away from
Paris and go back to London I went on
portal and that's where I found an offer
from hotels accom I applied through
portal and that's how I got the job the
impact of our career sport is that
students leave with a set of career
skills that they can use not just for
their first job post MBA but as lifelong
skills they can use for every job in the
future

### Executive MBA Dubai - Programme Experience | London Business School
URL: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a_FjrQvrxlo

Idioma: en

one of the reasons I decided to go for
my Executive MBA was because I was
looking for a professional reboot I was
looking for a way to challenge myself
professionally to look at how my skills
compare with the best in the industry as
well as upgrade the skills I have and to
be exposed to new things I got my
undergrad degree in the University of
Georgia in the US and I wanted that more
global perspective I wasn't going to
give up working to be a full-time MBA
student is just not in my DNA it was
great that I could actually go to work
three weeks a month and then take a week
off and focus on bettering myself the
program is a 20 month course that has
the first year full of core courses
which are set for you as students during
the second year you can take up to eight
electives what's great about this
program is that you can make it as
flexible and as global as you'd like it
to be I did most of my electives in
London and I also did an international
assignment in India it was extremely
rewarding to be able to apply what I
learned in school directly and
immediately at the workplace my
colleagues saw and benefited from the
new ideas perspectives and knowledge
that I brought the fact that it is that
same faculty that teaches in Dubai as it
doesn't London is what makes this
program really really attractive having
been through the program I've have a
deep understanding for the rigour it is
a very very serious program that
produces high quality graduates really
inspiring lecturers graded teaching
classes are well managed with a lot of
participation and a great deal of
application we like to think that the
high quality of our Executive MBA
graduates as I do by campus is partly
due to our teaching and the high quality
instruction that we provide at the
London Business School but I think that
another major factor is the high quality
of the student body the fact that they
are able to interact with so many of the
leaders in the region is one of the
things that pushes the monitor quite a
success in future business endeavors
having a truly global network very few
universities can claim
that the opportunity to interact with
very highly capable individuals from
diverse backgrounds and cultures is one
of the most exciting aspects of the
program
I think it's an added value that's
really priceless the bay's is a great
place and I'm sure that people will tell
you every day that it is a melting pot
of cultures it blends east and west
together in a unique way it has all the
amenities that one can think of there's
so much opportunity here if you can
dream it you can conceive it you can
talk to people about it and you're open
and an enthusiastic people give you a
shot it's a very diverse place it's very
international it's really booming and
there's a lot happening so there are
definitely opportunities in the business
world and I think that the lbs program
gives you a lot of frameworks and a lot
of angles and approaches that you can
see how you can capture those
opportunities when the business school
has changed my perspective on the world
it helped instill a confidence in me and
helped me drive value for my corporation
and then afterwards all my businesses I
believe I got exactly what I wanted from
the executive mba program and that it
helped fill certain knowledge gaps but
also give me skills and i allowed me to
build relationships that hopefully would
stay with me my lifetime a person that I
was when I applied for that application
it's gonna be a lot smarter a lot more
experience with a really big network at
my fingertips

wanted to be able to see what other
Industries are out there broaden my
Horizon pretty much I grew up in the US
and I wanted to see what it was like in
Europe London is a lot different than
Texas but you're part of the community
so it's very welcoming when you get to
LDS everyone is uh willing to help you
move in willing to give you advice the
first term was exciting and packed
on my London business experience I'm
going to visit the Coke factory and
that's really taking our operations
class and getting to see it in a
business which is so valuable because it
makes it so much more alive and Vivid
for you I'm doing my internship this
summer at Cargill in their strategy and
Business Development Group kgill is a
large private company that operates in
the food and agriculture sector I worked
on trivia consumer products business on
their brand valuation a lot of what I
learned my first year was very useful in
my internship so one of the classes that
I took was brand management a lot of
that translated into work looking at
comparable Brands looking at how they're
valued Cargill did offer me a
job second ear you have a lot more
flexibility to choose your electives or
choose to do a second internship and
also you get to work with people in your
electives across different programs my
GBE was in Johannesburg and we worked
with a micro entrepreneur his name was
mazette and we helped him improve his
business through different marketing
initiatives and teaching them how to
bookkeep so one of my favorite things at
lbs is all the cultural clubs um a lot
of them they plan trips for the students
so you get to experience their culture
I've gotten to travel to Japan Korea and
Israel with people that I know from
there so it's been a whole different
kind of experience I get to actually
know feel what it's like to be a local
it's really important in a business
school setting to be able to think
globally uh lots of large companies
expand to different countries and
different regions and you have to adapt
your business to operate locally and
being able to travel and also visit
companies and see how they operate has
really taught me a lot about uh
international business you also see
businesses in other countries and you're
like hey this is a great idea to you
know bring to where I live so whenever
now that I'm traveling to another
country I think of startup
ideas you have the option to do a second
internship I worked for HG Capital it's
a private Equity Firm in London looking
at energy technology Investments so I've
gone from startup to big company to
midsize company to investment type
company and it was amazing to see how
the different um companies function and
learn from different styles of
management and communication energy
affects people around the world and it
has so much investment in it and so many
um new technologies coming out that I
think it's a field that is really going
to grow in the future and I still want
to be a part of it I'm going back to sh
in a strategy role so during my
internship like I did a strategy type
project I really like strategy and I'm
glad I'm getting to do that in um in a
field that I'm very interested
my fiance will be working in London as
well so we'll get to start the first
part of our life together here

when you've been working for a few years
and you come back and you do the MBA
it's really special you know you're
older and wiser and hopefully you got a
bit of cash which you can splash so you
can have a bit more fun and you can do a
bit more travel the NBA AC
Crossroads when you join lbs one of the
first things they do after they've put
you into classes is to divide you up
into study
groups the fact that you have to work
collaboratively one is an excellent life
skill but two it's it's actually quite
fun it makes such a nice change from
being in a very competitive environment
to suddenly coming into the lbs
Community I've joined the women in
Business Club just want to introduce
myself very quickly my name is Morgan my
EUR Katie and I are running the the club
this year on top of this whole MBA
school work life and the social stuff
that you really want to get involved
with and the clubs and the societies and
everything else I did get married in our
spring break it's great that Partners
can get involved in all the the social
and sporting clubs on campus my partner
is important to me and I want him to be
able to be a part of that life an aspect
for me that was pretty much invaluable
was the mock interviews that lbs held
the one thing that came out of those
very close to recruitment time was that
I was actually woefully underprepared I
think there is some space to inject more
of yourself into the answer you think
you can wing
it truth is you can't those were helpful
in putting a bit of a a fire in my bum
that meant I had to go out and and do
the prep and do the practice and really
work on my interview skills the final
offer that I received and have accepted
for the summer is to go and work for
McKenzie in London very excited about
that I think it's going to be
fun I've just finished a a 10-week
internship McKenzie and Company I really
had a great time I learned an incredible
amount the great thing about an
internship especially one like this is
that you really get a chance to try
something new in a relatively risk-free
environment the experience that I had
really proved to me a lot of the things
that I thought Consulting was about um
there were aspects that I absolutely
loved a lot of the kind of people
interaction the problem solving stuff
the really getting into the nitty-gritty
of of fixing problems I really really
enjoyed I can't believe that we've
finished our first year and everybody's
disappearing off on
exchanges I wanted to go on Exchange
because it's a unique opportunity
you know when am I going to have the
chance again to say well I'm going to go
live in the states unless it's a huge
move and I'm kind of picking up sticks
and moving my life across the year two
of my MBA has felt quite different from
first year when you do electives you do
them with a cross-section of the entire
lbs community so it's it's different you
get to meet new people you get to meet
the rest of the
community I was lucky enough to go off
to Hong Kong which was um fabulous you
know we we met some amazing companies I
think it is such a big issue in the
world economy going forward that people
need to have at least a basic
understanding of China and the East and
how they've evolved and how they're
likely to evolve in the future you need
to be able to relate to different people
different situations and different
environments having a broader
perspective is invaluable in business we
do have a lot of fun people tend to
travel quite a bit I think it's a
function of the kinds of people that are
attracted to LBS it's a very
International Community yeah I've done a
lot of travel guess I'm doing a lot of
travel but it's it's
fun so why
not people who are here are here because
they want to be here they want to be in
this kind of environment it's not
necessarily very conservative it's
Unique and I think people have a better
idea about how life really works like so
many people come into the NBA with a
plan of going into banking or Finance or
Consulting and actually realize their
passion is entrepreneurship and they
have 2 years to flesh out their idea in
a in a fantastic supportive and you know
stimulating environment for me looking
back it gave me an opportunity to
redirect my career from banking into
Consulting and I don't think I would
have been able to do that without lbs
it's been fun you know I feel like I'm
becoming an adult again

I used to work in banking specifically
as a a creditor analyst for a number of
years and I wasn't quite getting what I
needed from uh the
job I'm sponsor by my company which is
Ams the luxury
brand before I came to London Business
School I was working in an airline in
South America I was a route manager in
charge of all the routs uh between
Brazil and the rest of South America Pro
coming to LBS I was a civil engineer I
decided to establish my own construction
company and I've been running that for 2
years on a professional level I thought
it was time to come and actually
reestablish myself in the
UK prior to the MBA I work for Shell Oil
Company I wanted to get an MBA because I
spent my whole career working in the
energy industry and I wanted to be able
to see what other Industries are out
there I decided that this is the right
time to go and do my MBA as a way to
step back uh to try to make sense of
what was going on what can happen in the
future the first term was amazing it was
the term where everyone wants to meet
with everyone and everyone wants to have
fun I was overwhelmed with the number of
clubs available the energy Club the
finance Club Consulting clubs I joined
the wine and cheese Club the salsa club
which was my wife site here I joined the
women in Business
Club one of the things that happened in
lbs is all the trips organized by
students we go to the Alps for one week
for someone like me from the Middle East
I've never had the opportunity see snow
before I was like
w it's great that Partners can get
involved in all the the social and
sporting cuts on campus my partner is
important to me and I want him to be
able to be a part of that life London
Business School is located right in the
city London is a huge hub for business
and finance there's lots of theater fun
stuff to
do we had good opportunity to discover
about different companies and industries
in London with the London business
experience
I have chosen to go to Sachi and Sachi
one I signed up for was the Chelsea
Football
Club I'm going to visit the Coke factory
it makes it so much more alive and Vivid
for
you Career Services have really greatly
assisted me helping me identify where I
may wish to pursue my career also
preparing me for interviews for my
internship one of the the interesting
things that we have at lbs is the
entrepreneurship summer school you apply
with a business idea then you go through
classes for almost a week and then you
fly back to your home country or
wherever you're going to launch the
business and you start doing market
research I always wanted to do my own
business but I just didn't have the
right idea and they know how to teach
you and how to show you what you're
supposed to be looking for the idea just
came it was clear that I wanted to
introduce coconut water until
so that's that's the basest
idea I'm doing my internship this summer
at Cargill in their strategy Business
Development Group I'm going to be
located in Minneapolis in June I spent
two weeks here uh in Paris it was an
opportunity for me to to meet uh
different people at Ms to start
preparing uh my future when I will come
back to to the company I've just
finished a a 10- we internship with
McKenzie and Company I really had a
great time I learned an in amount this
summer I was at namura the Japanese
Investment Bank it was really good
experience thoroughly enjoyed it London
was an opportunity for me to to reflect
to have time to ask me what I really
wanted to do and what I what I didn't
want to do I think it's been an amazing
experience I learned a lot I met
incredible people reflecting back on my
first year at lbs it went by so quickly
I wish I had more time to do more stuff

you two was more about execution
progress getting things done learning
and experimenting and doing London
Business School offers the possibility
to do the training in 15 18 or 21 months
so I will try to finish within 15 more I
will try to fast-track I could even
shoot more or less the days of the week
I wanted to walk my second year is super
short it was crazy I had to take lots of
classes in one term it was not
impossible just a lot of work I wanted
to go on exchange because it's a unique
opportunity you know when am I gonna
have a chance again to say well I'm
gonna go live in the States unless it's
a huge move and I'm kind of picking up
sticks in my life the most important
insight from my UC Berkeley experience
was that the idea that you're working on
Islam as important as the problem that
you are trying to tackle and why do you
personally feel obliged to solve that
problem
when you do electors you do them with
the cross-section of the entire obvious
community do you get to meet many people
you get to make the rest of the
community we had people from different
programs like for instance Executive MBA
and I should say that their insights in
class were very good we have a lot of
experience to share one of the benefits
is the opportunity to do courses in
Dubai with the Executive MBA program
I've definitely made the use of that to
take one of the courses out there the
Hong Kong JP a female is one of the
highlights
probably in the experience it was
actually targeted around private equity
venture capital I was amazed by the
opportunity currently in Hong Kong the
experience was really fantastic was like
a cherry on the cake at the MBA they
make entrepreneurs that I was supposed
to help but he had had this business for
like 20 years
he actually understood the basics of his
business he just didn't have the the
tools or Devi has to make it like bigger
so we came up with some concepts of
marketing branding one of the unique
things about lbs is the option to do a
second internship I worked for each G
capital it's a private equity firm in
London looking at energy technology
investments I was able to build my
electives around opportunities through a
second internship which I did a venture
capital firm in London called octopus
investments we would meet these
entrepreneurs and listen to their pitch
and posts and difficult questions to try
and understand a bit more about their
idea I evaluated probably quite a few
hundred business plans I am aware of
only one or two actually getting to the
investment stage there's quite a tough
environment
we have to vote a lot I focused most of
my secondary enterpreneurship courses so
new vendor development is the class
where we actually work on the business
plan I went through the list of all the
class participants before before the
term started and I went one man one
looking for the people that could
actually help me I'm so happy with what
we came up with for me looking back the
MBA is a battle turning-point it gave me
an opportunity to redirect my career
from banking into consulting and I don't
think I would have been able to do that
without Elias I don't think I'll ever
have a year like this again in my life
where I have the opportunity to travel
meet people from around the world one of
the professor's once said that in ten
years from now he will be asking
yourself what have you done over the
last ten years and you want to have a
good answer for yourself it's changed
the way that I see businesses I've done
so much in the past two years that I
probably wouldn't have done within that
period anywhere else I would be the
purchasing director Thomas purchasing in
supply chain it's been really really
fast I cannot believe I'm leaving I
think it was the right decision to come
it reaches you and makes you grow as a
person
you learn about humility leadership
friendship many things

I love traveling but the best part about
it is being able to share it with the
students here and the new friends I've
made
[Music]
entrepreneurship has been a like a
roller coaster so far and it hasn't even
started officially yet it's kind of
exciting it's kind of a scary as
well the Hong Kong GP for me was one of
the highlights of the whole of the NBA
experience I was amazed by the
opportunity currently in Hong Kong
my objective was to build my my own NBA
so I go back to Paris almost every
weekend this is very
[Music]
easy the NBA is a vital turning point it
gave me an opportunity to redirect my
career and I don't think I would have
been able to do that without lbs
[Music]
in 10 years from now you'll be asking
yourself what have you done over the
last 10 years and you better have a good
answer for yourself
