well for me my expectation or one of the
reasons I decided to go for my Executive
MBA was because I was looking for a if
you will a professional reboot you know
I really like where I work I like the
environment that I'm in but I really was
looking for a way to challenge myself
professionally to look at how my skills
compare with the best in the industry
across various industries as well as
upgrade the skills I have and to be
exposed to new things the reason I chose
to study and work it's because me
personally I didn't want to take that
time off of work I'm I really like what
I do and I wanted to be able to
supplement that with being challenged in
a very different way outside of work and
this kind of allows me to get in a way
the best of both worlds because what I'm
learning in class I mean it sounds nerdy
but I'm actually you know kind of like
looking at work differently and trying
to take little bits of what I'm doing to
apply it to it's my day to day work
which has been great

for me in particular the network that
the program gives you is the most
important thing from my personal
experience I'm doing a joint venture
with a guy from New York in Sevilla I'm
starting up a company in Shanghai of
educational services I am willing to
participate in another corporation that
some of our colleagues is planning to do
and by myself
I'm putting the fund I was managing I'm
trying to put transformation into a
hedge fund so it's only been four months
and the business opportunities that the
network may be because we are all a
bunch group of people willing to do the
same kind of things so open-minded to
each other that that's the real value of
the program it's been helping me while
I'm in the program already for his
import last time when I was in London I
was introduced by some manager who is
running a nonprofit organization in
China and then they they are in need of
an architect to help them build their
office in China so I went to Guangzhou
to visit this that the chairman of this
company right after my class week in
Hong Kong so at the same time I'm also
getting some connections with my
classmates to help on some residential
projects in New York City so really this
program allowed me to expand my future
business opportunities across different
continents despite the fact that we meet
only once one week for a month it's
actually a really tight group of people
we all try to support each other's
learning but we also have fun at the
same time since we are 38 we can manage
to really know each other very very well
and we can set up plans like last
weekend we were in Sevilla more than 50
percent of the class and like we had a
wonderful time and that was possible
because we were only 38 I mean I I don't
imagine being in the 400 students class
and making the same plans
alumni networks are so important to an
MBA and the one thing that the Ember
global actually provides is access to
three networks the Columbia Network the
lbs Network
and the Hong Kong University Network and
you're not going to get that at any
school anywhere else in the world being
able to be part of this big family I
believe it's going to prove a lot of
value to my future career prospects in
terms of really how I want to use it
right now I'm based in the US so I can
definitely leverage the Columbia Network
and there are lbs and then I over there
as well hopefully in about five ten
years I might be going back to Asia so I
know that I'll be act able to access the
Hong Kong network and the lbs and the
Columbia network there too it just
offers such a wide range of
opportunities

I work in the US and so I had an option
to take my MBA in the US but I know that
programs outside of the US will be more
diverse I wanted a program that was
definitely global and I definitely got
that with Amber global Asia program
because you've got a focus on asia which
means there and given where asia is
going as so many people interested in it
that we have three people from belgium
we have people who are Americans that
now work in Asia you have Asians who
want to expand throughout the rest of
Asia so it's it's such a diverse group
and everybody has a different background
I think the most amazing thing that this
program offer is that true diverse
student body which in my case we have a
38 students in the same classroom that
we have 17 nationalities represented so
this is a really of the environment that
for you to gain different kind of
perspective of life and seeing the
future trend I sit in class every time
and I learn something from my Swedish
classmate who works in Korea or my
American classmate who now works in
China I mean there's so much to learn
from these perspectives that you'll
never get if you're not sharing and
sitting with them and learning and
talking about the same topic I get to
travel around two very different places
around the globe New York London Hong
Kong and that's that's only just the
beginning that's very exciting and
interesting because I get to meet
different people different places or
environments which really stimulates my
my thinking and my thoughts and my
intellectual curiosity

### Why choose EMBA-Global Asia? | London Business School

i grew up in hong kong i studied in the
us and in the uk
and i now work in the u.s so really when
i want to
bring together my global background and
think about where the world is moving in
the future i want to make sure that it's
from a very global perspective
so when i chose the program i was really
looking for something that had that
global perspective and there are really
very few
global programs out there of this
calibre bringing in you know top schools
in the us the number one mba in the
world in london
and one of the most
respected universities in hong kong the
university of hong kong i was looking to
do an mba and by that time
i knew that i wanted to do in the
executive mba so i started looking which
were the best options in the market
since i i only wanted to do the best one
and
some other faculties offers programs
that are pretending to be
like this
but
they are not for one simple reason you
here you have three unique brands
with a huge and incredible reputation
and willing to uh to give you their
savviness
and when when you have that mixture
that's something very special that
really makes the difference i was
working and living in the states for the
past eight years and for the timing i'm
thinking to expand my business to asia
so i think this is true program that
will allow me to bridge my western
knowledge to the asia market there's
several reasons why i chose this program
but main reason relates to my
aspirations to make a career change
as for my next step i would like to
bridge japanese technologies to asia
namely to china
and this program's focus on the global
leadership development as well as his
focus on asia made it a very natural
choice for me i chose the program
because
i wanted to learn more about business
and today businesses are global so the
best way to learn about business is by
if you have the chance to be in asia
in europe and north america and you have
the chance to be in those three
different cities hong kong new york
london
learning from the source
then
the experience will be much better
all companies right now they're all
looking to go global and they need
people who have a global experience and
a global background and a global
education
and i think being able to take a global
perspective and think at a more
strategic level and be able to run the
business um from an international
perspective with both the skills and the
perspective
i think are exactly the type of tools i
need to get me where i want to go

your Global Learning Experience starts
in the UK with study at London Business
School you then study on Alternate
months at Colombia your experience
extends to a choice of two International
assignments within companies in Asia
South America Europe or North
America you'll have access to two great
campuses with first class
facilities it's really the people that
help develop the broader global
perspective of the program both London
and New York are great International
cities but the true value of em Global
is in the people we have people living
in US Canada Europe as well as Rio Dubai
and Hong Kong you combine that with the
variety of Industries represented from
hedge funds and investment Banks to
technology firms to energy firms to the
World Bank and you have dozens of
different views and opinions uh the
program has had a tremendous impact on
my performance at work um it's made me
more aware of my strengths and my
weaknesses especially the leadership
modules that we are given in the
beginning and uh talking to the
leadership coaches um has really made me
aware what I'm good at and what I'm not
good at I work with a small Healthcare
it firm and we're only 25 people but we
have partners that are Global in nature
so increasingly we have reasons to go to
Saudi Arabia Germany and here in England
one of the questions the university the
program asks when you come in is why a
global EMA to me the question is why
wouldn't you do a global emba
